A little about MGE
Midwest Gas Equipment began in 1967. It was founded by Perry Perkinson, a Mechanical Engineer and partner of O’Fallon Gas, and Lee Wheeler, Operations Manager of O’Fallon Gas.
Both men being of integrity and Christian morals worked together well. They began by doing mechanical contracting, specializing in commercial installations, industrial installations, and repair. Their work included installing boiler rooms in air force bases throughout the United States.
Perry was diagnosed with cancer and passed away in 1982. Lee considered him the best partner anyone could have ever had. Because of health reasons, a few years later, Lee sold the contracting part of Midwest Gas and focused on specialized gas equipment. The company grew over the years and now serves much of the Midwest. Lee passed away in 2021 and is still missed today.
Today, you’ll find that MGE still operates under the same Christian principles established by Lee and Perry. His daughter came to the company in 1998 and is involved in every aspect of the company and today is the acting President.
Her husband Matt came to work for the company in 2013 and took on the
responsibility of Vice President of Sales. Donna’s son Zackary in 2018 and is now the operations manager, and her daughter Ashley started doing graphic design in 2021.
MGE could not be successful without every one of our team members, but most importantly they have all come to be considered family.
